Spirit of Wisdom!

“The Spirit of wisdom and understanding …….The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him” (Isaiah 11:2).

Generally, a child gets its wisdom from its parents to a certain extent. Then it receives the same from the teachers, friends and practical experiences in life. This wisdom is very essential for one to grow in life, for solving the problems and to inherit the victories.

At the same time, there is one called as worldly wisdom. This acts according to traditions, habits and desires of the world. Paul, the apostle has spoken a lot about the wisdom of the world and the wise people of this universe. “Professing to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22).

At the same time, there is the evil wisdom of satan. He chose Hitler to follow and killed lakhs of people of Israel with his cunning and wicked wisdom. The evil wisdom of Hitler was the cause for the II World War. But God saves you, fills you with the Holy Spirit and graciously gives you the anointment of wisdom. That wisdom is the divine one coming from the heaven. If you want to receive this wisdom, look up to Christ who is the home of all wisdom. Paul the Apostle who admired and praised His wisdom rejoiced to say, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out” (Romans 11:33).

This wisdom revealed in Jesus Christ. People asked, “Is he not the son of a carpenter? How come he possesses this wisdom and strong deeds?” Yes. “When He had been baptized….the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him” (Mathew 3:16). As he was anointed with the wisdom, no one could accuse him nor corner him by raising questions. Even the officers who came to catch him told that no man ever spoke like Him (John 7:46). Dear children of God, seek that wisdom from God.

God gave this wisdom to His ignorant disciples. Peter was an illiterate fisherman but how wisely he was utilised! God graciously gave Him a scholar's tongue to enable him to earn thousands of souls who could preach with wisdom. Further, Paul was able to understand the secrets of the heavenly Kingdom and revealed the same to us. Dear children of God, rely upon Him. May he be the wisdom for you!

To meditate: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him” (James 1:5)
