Spirit of Holiness!
“…and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead” (Romans 1:4).
You should understand the greatness in the holiness of God. God is completely holy. God the Father is holy and the Son is also holy. In the same way, the Holy Spirit reveals the holiness and gives it to us who are the sons of men. He cleanses us with the Scripture which He has graciously given to us.
Paul the Apostle points out saying, “I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:16). Yes, holiness is very essential in Christian life. Without holiness, no one will see God. Without holiness, we cannot be called God’s children.
If you are not with holiness, you give way for satan to come into you. You cannot pray earnestly and the sins and the curses will flock towards you. The Scripture says, “…but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct” (I Peter 1:15).
God experienced the agony and the sufferings on the Cross of Calvary and washed and cleansed you with His blood, in order to make you holy. “For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness” (Hebrews 12:10).
Let the holiness be the first and foremost priority of your life. The power, strength, miracles and the signs come only next to it. Firstly, seek to become perfect in the spirit of God. Only those who are holy could be seen at the time of His Coming and will achieve glory to glory.
So, cleanse yourself so that you are free of spot or stain. Without holiness, you can never be seen in the Heavenly Kingdom. It is the country of the saints. Anything which practices abomination and filth can never enter the heaven. Heaven will be filled only with the cleansed saints.
Even the Christians say sadly, “I am unable to lead a life of holiness. I am unable to overcome the lust of the eye. Sometimes, I look people with lust. I get bad dreams at nights.” In that situation, rely upon God. He will hold your arm and guide you in the path of holiness. The life of holiness is made by both you and God. So, those who want to lead a holy life, rely upon God.
To meditate: “For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness” (Hebrews 12:10).
