“I am the Lord your God,……I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright” (Leviticus 26:13).

The Israelites were the slaves to the Egyptians. The Egyptians placed unbearable load on them. They had to burn numerous bricks every day but were not provided with sufficient straw for the purpose. The Egyptian supervisors beat them terribly and forced them to toil hard. They were not provided with any freedom or independence and had to walk with heads bowed.

As God wanted to deliver them, He redeemed them from the life of slavery by the blood of the Passover lamb. They came to the wilderness and freely sang praising God. They praised, worshipped and rejoiced. The joy and freedom which they were deprived of during the 400 years of slavery life were obtained by them through the blood of the Passover lamb.

Today, the blood of Christ who redeemed you is far more precious than the blood of that lamb. Since it redeemed you from the slavery of the curse and slavery praise it with joy. Raise your voice and worship Him.

While we go through the 13th chapter in the Gospel of Luke, we come across a woman who was crippled for 18 years by the evil spirit. Indeed she was the daughter of Abraham and indeed she was the one who had come to worship God but she struggled at being unable to break this chain of weakness. God, who could break the yoke and help her walk upright, had mercy on her. When He placed His hands on her with compassion, she became upright and received the miraculous healing.

Today, satan may interrupt in your life also and make you cripple. The stroke might have crippled your limbs and make you immobile. You may not be able to fulfil your responsibilities towards your family. Today, Jesus the Son is standing beside you to provide you deliverance. Specifically, ask God in what part you need deliverance and if you believe, God will honour your faith and do a miracle for you.

Did He not heal a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years? Did He not come in search of a man who was pitiably lying near the pool in Bethzatha and do a miracle? Did He not heal miraculously the man who was hopelessly living in the burial cave affected by the devil Legion? He will deliver you also and make you walk upright.

To meditate: “Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known my Name” (Psalm 91:14).
