“May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you” (Deuteronomy 1:11).

If God blesses you a thousand times more than what you are today, how great it would be! The mankind which was created with two persons has grown beyond seven hundred crores today. Just think over how many times it is. “It pleased the Lord to bless Israel” (Numbers 24:1).

When God looks at His people, He is compassionate and blesses them having been filled with love. The mercy and compassion He has placed on you are big. So, seek the blessings from God. The double portion was Elisha’s wish. So, he asked Elijah “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me” (II Kings 2:9). He did not stop with expressing his wish but followed him non-stop and received the double portion of the Gift of the Spirit.

Joseph gave Benjamin five times of blessings and we read it in Genesis 43:34. When Joseph shared the food varieties among all his brothers he gave five times more to Benjamin. Why? Benjamin and Joseph were children of the same mother. So, Joseph’s heart moved at the very thought of Benjamin.

King David says, “O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance” (Psalm 16:5, 6).

Daniel received ‘ten times’ of wisdom. The Scripture says, “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm” (Daniel 1:20), What was the reason? It is only because of his resolution over holiness. Daniel did not defile himself with the delicacies and wine of the king (Daniel 1:8).

Isaac received one hundred times of the blessings. “Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him” (Genesis 26:12). One hundred is a number of perfection. It is the perfection of the wish of a man. “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty” (Mathew 13:8). Dear children of God, He likes to bless you one hundred times as He did to the children of Israel. You should always be seen deserving for the blessing. Please God and make Him happy.

To meditate: “That our barns may be full, supplying all kinds of produce; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields” (Psalm 144:13).
