“Provides her supplies in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest” (Proverbs 6:8).

As the ant remains wise it saves for the future. Though it is a tiny creature, its deed looks amazing to our eyes. They have to eat; they have to feed all the young ones in the group; they have to protect them. In spite of having so many duties on hand, they save for the future.

Solomon the wise says that an ant is exceedingly wise. “The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer” (Proverbs 30:25). The summer arrives followed by the rainy and winter seasons. During the heavy rains, the ants will not be able to go in search of food. Ultimately they cannot save also in such climates. So, the ants and the bees have the good habit of saving the earnings. Jesus said, “I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is the day; the night is coming when no one can work” (John 9:4).

If the oil of anointment is not saved during the days of grace, will not the lamps look dull during the bridegroom’s arrival? “And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them” (Genesis 6:21).

Dear children of God, the seasons undergo changes. Do cultivate the habit of saving so that it can be made use of when the necessity arrives. Sudden accidents are there and sudden setbacks in health also cause medical expenses. If savings is there, such expenses could be easily met College education of the sons and the wedding expenses of the daughters involve huge financial commitments. To plan and save is essential so that going for loans and relying upon the relatives could be avoided during such situations.

Once a person came rushing to my father and sought a loan to meet the delivery expenses of his wife, who was under labour pain. My father knew that he was a spendthrift and so he condemned him saying “Didn’t you know that your wife was carrying for the past ten months? Why didn’t you save?” Anyway, he sympathized with him and came forward to help that man.

Have a control over your requirements and save for the future. Save the anointment to meet God during His Coming. Give generously to the ministries so that treasures are credited into your account in heaven.

To meditate: “So he gathered up all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Egypt and laid up the food in the cities” (Genesis 41:48).
