KEEP PLANNING!

“Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (Proverbs 24:3, 4).

Let your house be built blessedly. Let mental satisfaction, joy and peace be at your house. Wisdom is essential for a husband and wife to construct a house. In Proverbs 9:1 we read as “Wisdom has built her house. She has made its seven columns.” Build your house and children for the glory of God so that they are filled with Heavenly Manna.

For the word ‘wife,’ the Tamil translation is மனைவி and its meaning is ‘one who administers the house efficiently.’ The wife has an important role to play in building a house. “A wise woman strengthens her family. But a foolish woman destroys hers by what she does” (Proverbs 14:1). At the same time, more than the husband and wife, God lends the vital ideas in constructing it. “If the Lord doesn’t build the house, the builders are working for nothing. If the Lord doesn’t guard the city, the guards are watching for nothing” (Psalm 127:1).

Dear children of God, with the grace of God, build your house with proper planning. It is essential for you to preplan what the expenses you are facing and how they should be met with your income. You have to decide in advance how much is to be offered to God and how much is to be saved and so on. At the beginning of the month itself, it should be planned how to meet the family expenses, expenses related to food, vehicle, taxes, medical expenses etc. Many people spend more than their earnings and inevitably land in debts.

A businessman who commences a new venture invests a huge sum of money in it. He will execute with proper planning and thus will face profits. If he lacks in planning, things may end in a loss.

Your children should be made to know the difficulties the family is facing and the responsibilities to be fulfilled. Only then they will also be a part in the blessings of the family. Children should be aware of how so many expenses are to be met with limited income.

Your son may say that you are a loving father and will buy anything he wants. Saying this he may ask for a costly mobile. Give priority to God and do everything with proper planning. This alone will help you to lead a prosperous life. The life may lack ecstasy but what is more important is that life should be without shortfalls.

To meditate: “Learn the truth and never reject it. Get wisdom, self-control and understanding” (Proverbs 23:23).
