“….the days of your mourning shall be ended” (Isaiah 60:20).

The days of mourning, days of sorrow and the days of darkness might have followed you so far. But, since God stretches his arm towards you today, all these days of mourning, sorrow and darkness shall come to an end.

The promise of God does not end with that. God will be the eternal light for you. From now on, the darkness and satan the ruler of the darkness could not come near you. At the sight of the sun, the snow has no other option other than disappearing. No darkness can stand against the brightness of the sun. Yes, dear children of God, your days of the tear will not sustain long and it will definitely change today.

There is an ancient story about Solomon and it goes this way. Once, Solomon who was a kid then was playing in front of the palace of David. At that time he saw a goldsmith going into the palace happily to meet the king and coming out rather sadly.

When Solomon sought for the reason the goldsmith said, “I went into the palace to ask the king whether he had to make any jewellery for the Lordship. But he was in great tension and with great anger he has asked me to make a ring. He has also laid a condition that on seeing the new ring, all his days of mourning should come to an end and his sorrow should turn into joy. The king has threatened that if the new ring does not bring such fortune, the result will be unbearable for me.”

Solomon comforted the goldsmith and asked him to make an ordinary ring and to engrave the words ‘this will not last long and will pass away’ before giving it to the king.

The goldsmith acted accordingly and gave the ring to the king when he was very sad. The words engraved on the ring comforted the king greatly and with glee, he presented several gifts to the goldsmith in appreciation.

Dear children of God, your days of mourning will also not last long. God will definitely turn your sorrow into happiness. He will turn your tears into dancing. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

The people of the world used to quote the Tamil saying which points out ‘the hand that beats alone will embrace too.’ Likewise, certain powers of darkness would have landed as punishment from the hand of God. The darkness in the family created due to the problems of sin might have been troubling you. But, due to the powerful Name of Jesus Christ, His loving brightness will shine upon you and brightness will definitely be created. Joy and peace will be created.

To meditate: “That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world” (John 1:9).
