“The Lord your God in your midst, he Mighty One, will save” (Zephaniah 3:17).

Once, a doctor who was known for his compassionate treatment to his patients became ill and was admitted to a hospital. His body decayed and started emanating smell. The doctors attending him were unable to diagnose what the problem was. Though the ailing doctor had faith that God is powerful to heal him he also doubted how it could be done.

At that time his wife was reading the Scripture loudly. In the midst of her reading, came the verse vide Zephaniah 3:17 which said, “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” This verse touched the heart of the doctor and he asked his wife to read that particular verse again and again.

He rejoiced saying,” Even if my body gets decomposed, One who dwells in me is powerful. One who dwells in me is of perfect health. One who dwells in me is one who does miracles. One who dwells in me is compassionate. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The same Jesus Christ who did miracles two thousand years ago will dwell in me, heal me and restore my health.”

What a surprise! God gave him perfect health very soon. While witnessing, he said, “Since Jesus Christ stayed within me, the disease had to exit from me. Christ and disease cannot dwell together in one place.”

Rather than believing that the medicines and tonics would heal, believe that Christ will dwell in me and heal me. Then, health will be restored in your body. Though doctors give you the medicines, it is God the heavenly doctor alone heals you.

The Scripture says, “You have received gifts among men, even from the rebellious, that the Lord God might dwell there” (Psalm 68:18). Yes, dear children of God, within God who dwells in you, are the gifts of healing. So, do not be worrying. Today, God will do a miracle for you.

“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26).

To meditate: “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely and will be secure, without fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:33).
