“Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain.” (Zechariah 10:1).

This is the fifth God-given prayer point. Through the rain of Spirit, the revival is created; prayer warriors arise; the fire of prayer also burns. So, how essential it is to pray for the latter rain! Pray earnestly for the latter rain to be poured immensely with powerful miraculous deeds in these last days. One latter rain was poured during the days of the early Apostles and the river of revival overflowed its banks. When the disciples prayed, the place where they had assembled together was shaken. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word (Acts 10:44).

These are the last days and in accordance with God’s promise “I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh” (Joel 2:28), He is pouring the Spirit today. If you pray earnestly for this latter rain, God will make the fire to descend as He did in the days of Elijah. Do you know what the prayer of Isaiah was? “As fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—To make your name known to your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at your presence” (Isaiah 64:2).

Let the longing and the expectation over the latter rain lead you to earnest prayer. Have desire on the revival with thirst as the deer pants for the water brooks. The Lord God fills the hungry with good things (Luke 1:53). He is the one to pour the rivers on those who are thirsty (Isaiah 43:20). Dear children of God, let your prayer time be one filled with the Holy Spirit. God will send the latter rain with thundering.

A devotee by name Founds says, “The prayer is nothing but the pleading of a living soul to God with the psychic tears.” Spurgeon, a man of God says, “The time when God bends to kiss a man is the prayer time. The tiny nerves which shake the muscles of the Almighty are the prayer. The revival was there wherever the divine people prayed. Thousands of people were saved and the venues of dance, drama and cinema were closed. Throughout the streets and homes, only the sounds of tearful prayer were heard. On hearing their prayers, God kept on sending the latter rain.

Dear children of God, we have come to the last days. The rain, based on letters, poured during the days of Noah. The rain which started as a drizzle, step by step grew into a very heavy downpour. In the end, God opened the windows of heaven. Just like this, there will be a heavy downpour at the time of His coming. As a result of this rain, the Ark of Salvation will be lifted to the Most High.

To meditate: “He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth” (Hosea 6:3).
