During Times of War!

“Please buy my field …. for the right of inheritance is yours and the redemption yours; buy it for yourself” (Jeremiah 32:8).

It was a war time. The king of Babylon had laid the siege against Israel. During that period no land transaction could take place. King Zedekiah was ruling the land of Judah. The prophet Jeremiah himself prophesied “Oh, King Zedekiah, you will not win. The king of Babylon will defeat you and take you to Babylon in captivity.” King Zedekiah became wild on hearing that prophecy.

So, the king caught hold of Jeremiah, beat him and put him in the prison located in the courtyard of the palace. The imprisonment may extend for seventy years. A tense situation prevailed and nobody knew what is going to happen and how many are going to be killed. The situation was such that it was impossible for any property transaction could happen but God said, “I am going to give you, your ancestor’s property. One of your relations will come and meet you and you will have to sign the deal he brings. You will have to pay seventeen shekels of silver to him as cost.” Jeremiah thought how this thing could happen during the time of war and he was surprised at the happening.

Dear children of God, the ways of God are wonderful. “The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm and the clouds are the dust of His feet” (Nahum 1:3). “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27).

Yes, it is possible, it is possible for God. There is nothing impossible for Him. Do you know how Jeremiah responded to this? He said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you” (Jeremiah 32:17). Accordingly, those properties came to Jeremiah on a purchase.

Around 25 years ago, a poor sister who used to forecast things, came to our home. Suddenly she said in prophesy “Son, I am going to give you the neighbouring house. You need not make any effort regarding this. Your neighbour will approach you on his own accord and sell you the property for a low price.”

In the property located next to ours, there were six families residing in it and we were not aware whether they are going to sell it or not. But, all of a sudden, they approached me as God had said, sold me the property at a very nominal price. God is one who converts the hearts; converts the thoughts. Definitely, God will do big things in your life and in your family. He will break all the shackles which were thus far blocking the blessings.

“Who does great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number” (Job 5:9).
