like a lily!

“Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters” (Song of Solomon 2:2).

Though there are so many varieties of flowers in the world, God takes the Lily flower in His hands with love. He compares it to His bride. He expresses His joy saying, “Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.”

The lily flower cannot spread out its fragrance if it remains a bud without blooming. In that case, it cannot exhibit its wholesome beauty. The bees and the bugs cannot consume the sweet nectar from them. God says with love “Dear son, dear daughter, I will make you blossom like a lily flower so that you are a blessing to others, spreading the wonderful fragrance. You will be delighted with a sweet face. You will never be let down and you will never be put to shame.”

During the night time, when the lily flower of the valley blooms, the wind will carry the sweet fragrance to distant places. This fragrance will attract the bees located far away, even four or five km away and bring them towards it. When you reveal your fragrance of knowing Christ in your prayer, the souls located even at distant places will come nearer to God.

White is the colour of a lily flower. It is the symbol of holiness. Whiteness would look bright amidst deep darkness. You will bloom like a lily flower to reveal the divine holiness to the world which is under darkness.

A sister lost her husband within a few months after marriage and she was pregnant too. Even in that adverse situation, she fortified herself with God and prayed, “God, I have no other hope than you. I want to carry out the prayer ministry. You have to guide me to reach several souls. You have to bless me with gifts of revelation. You have to fill me with the anointment of prophecy.”

God heard her prayer. That sister began to spread fragrance like a lily flower. It was a fragrance of prayer. With the gifts of God, she guided thousands of souls towards God. When I met her, she was around seventy years of age. I was a drunkard then and that sister guided me towards the love of God. Her prayer made me a servant of God. I was not only saved by her prayer but I also received many Spiritual blessings of God.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31:28). In appearance, the lily flower looks like a trumpet. The heavenly trumpet announces the Coming of Christ to the earth. God, Himself will descend with the voice of an archangel and the trumpet. In these days of grace, spread the fragrance like a lily flower.

To meditate: “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)
