“He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth” (Hosea 6:3).
The Holy Spirit will graciously descend like rain to rejuvenate the crops which are withering. He will definitely come down so that the tanks are full to their capacity and the rivers flow to the optimum level. He is the one to fill everything with everything. He will come to pour the anointment in you so that your vessel overflows. The children of God will prepare themselves for His Coming only if this latter rain pours. The believers will get united and there will be integration in the Church. The believers will forget the church bindings and the preaching and will be filled with divine love. Then, there will be one flock and one shepherd.
A peasant was rearing geese. He divided them into groups based on their colour and closed them in different enclosures. The geese wished to live together with love but the partitions did not help their cause. They longed for the fellowship. One day, there was a heavy rain and the water level came up and in one stage it went even higher than the height of the partitions. As the water level rose, all the geese were able to swim above the partitions and united gleefully.
Today, different types of churches and preaching have divided the Christians into several groups like CSI geese, Lutheran geese, Methodist geese, Catholic geese and Pentecost geese and so on. But, when the latter rain of anointment is poured, people will forget all the differences, realise the repercussions and unite together.
That day, all the livestock entered into the Ark together on their own accord. Did not those animals leave behind their wicked characteristics? The wild animals entered the Ark with peace and happiness getting rid of their brutality. Even today, the latter rain has united the people of God. They keep on running into the Ark of Christ. What a great level of integration and love in that Ark!
Similar to how Noah saw the beautiful rainbow as the covenant of peace, we also will see the beautiful rainbow of the Lamb. At the time of His Coming, we will also forget all our regional and linguistic differences and will be united in His divine presence.
When Jesus was baptised, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove. He descended like a rushing mighty wind and fire on the Upper Room (Acts 2:2-4). Further, He will descend like an oil of anointment, a river of life, breath, rain, authority, stamp and like drops of dew. Will you eagerly expect that day to come?
To meditate: “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” (John 4:35).
