Let Not be Troubled!
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1).
“Let not your heart be troubled” is the promise which God gives you today. Yes, to get troubled is human nature. That too, at the time of problems and struggles, the heart gets more troubled. During many occasions, we are greatly shaken and we say “alas, my needs are to be met, my sickness is to be healed, my financial problem should be solved, my children should be blessed with good education” and so on.
An old saying in Tamil goes this way. “The king of Sri Lanka was so much saddened as a person suffering by debts.” The debt brings in worry. The devil makes it appear as if troubles could not be solved and influences one to commit suicide or to take bribery in order to meet the penury.
Have faith in the Lord when you get disheartened, Christ says one should have faith in Him too. Think about this! When He gave His own Son for us all, how will he not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Yes, one who created the sky and the earth is your God. The earth and everything in it belong to the Lord. The ocean resounds and everything in it belong to God. One who has kept gold and diamond mines beneath the earth stays as an affectionate father of yours. He will meet all your needs miraculously.
So, do not give room to anxiety and lose your peace of mind and your family peace. Whatever be the worry which squeezes your heart, be with faith that one who rebuked the winds and the waves will do a miracle for you.
First of all, praise God. Have strong faith in Jesus Christ. Secondly, sit at the feet of God and wait to know what He says. King David says, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalms 43:5).
So far you might have waited for men. You might have waited in residences of an advocate or a police officer. But have you waited for God? There is nothing impossible for Him. He has all authority over the heaven and the earth. If you wait for God you will soar on wings like eagles. At that time, God will advocate for you, fight for you and do everything you. So, without worrying, stay with the strong faith in God.
To meditate: “Listen to me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is my law: Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults” (Isaiah 51:7).
