Great Are The Wonders!

“To Him who alone does great wonders, for His mercy endures forever” (Psalms 136:4).

The entire bible is filled with the miracles and signs of God. It portrays the miraculous things He did. It stands as the witness to say that He is wonderful. Today, He will definitely do a miracle, sign for you He loves you.

When the Israelites were in the captivity of Egypt, God wonderfully saved them, helped them to cross the Red Sea and brought them to the wilderness. There he did many miracles. He showered manna from the sky, which was the food of the angels. When they preferred to eat meat, the quail came in plenty and covered the camp. The quails were countless and they ate as much as they could.

Though they walked for forty years in the wilderness, their legs did not swell and their footwear did not become worn out. They were as strong as a wild ox. The same God will strengthen, stabilise you also and give you perfect health.

God said to Moses, “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth nor in any nation and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you” (Exodus 34:10).

If we go through the entire Scripture, we notice that miracles done by God and by prophets and priests as well. He has done many miracles, also through some ordinary believers. Just when Manoah asked for the name of God, he understood the miracle (Judges 13:18, 19). “His name will be called Wonderful” (Isaiah 9:6). “Who does great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number” (Job 5:9).

I was doing ministry by staying in my friend’s house. He was married for 19 years, yet had no children. His wife also had already crossed the stage of bearing a child. They believed God and miraculously she got conceived but they were not aware of the fact.

After three months they approached a doctor with the fear that something was wrong in the stomach. But when the doctor revealed that it was pregnancy they were unable to believe. A beautiful male child was born to them. At that time they were residing abroad but in the interest of the child, they returned to India. The friends and relatives of the family who saw the child told that it was a miracle and they praised God. Yes, dear children of God, one who does the wonders is alive even today.

To meditate: “Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works!” (Psalms 105:2).
