Great is The Love!

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (I Corinthians 13:13).

God makes a covenant with you and promises you saying “Son. Daughter, I have placed a big love over you. I have loved you with an eternal one. I will gather you with great mercies.”
It looks as though Paul the apostle conducts a debate over the title, “Which is great among Faith, Hope and Love?” Today, all these three are present but which among these is great? He stays as a judge and renders judgement that ‘Love is the greatest.’

Jesus Christ is the one to formulate the basis for love. “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (I John 4:8). It is because of this love He renounced the heaven, left the worship of the angels and became a Son of God.  In this world, He showed His love for us and took the form of a bondservant. He humbled Himself to the extent of washing the legs of the disciples and showed His love. The peak of that love is Jesus shedding blood and giving His life on the cross of Calvary. That is the sacrificial love. It is the agape love.

Once, an Evangelist preached continuously for fourteen days over the ‘Love of Calvary.’ On the last day, when he was talking about the ‘Love of Calvary’ he said, “I cannot describe the depth of Christ’s love in full, irrespective of the number of days I speak about it. If only I had the ladder of Jacob, I will climb to the entrance of the heaven and request Gabriel to explain the love of God. For this, he will point out John 3:16 and say “For God so loved the world.”
Paul the apostle admired this great love and said, “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:7, 8).

Even in the world, what a great love the mother bird has over its young ones! Once I saw a mother bird feeding its blind chicks. No chick in the group had vision. They were unable to see the mother bird and were unable to feel the love of the mother. Just on hearing the sound of the mother bird coming nearer they open their mouths and seek food. I was astonished to see the mother bird flying here and there in search of worms and insects to feed the young ones.

Dear children of God, While God has placed so much love in the heart of the mother, what a great amount of love will He be holding in His heart? Love never ceases. Be it this world or the eternity, love will never cease. The love of God is eternal and eternal.

To meditate: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32).
