All Above, We Think!

“…above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

Our God is being called as ‘Elshadai.’ He is powerful to bless more than what you think and what you seek. Further, He will use you as an overflowing vessel. You will be a blessing to thousands of people.

When Abraham had no children, He was yearning God to give him one. But God willed to create a generation of faith through Abraham. He gave three types of generations.  The first was the one like that of the sand of the sea.  The second was the one like the dust of the world. For the third one, God took Abraham aside and told him, “Look now toward heaven and count the stars if you are able to number them.” When God said, “So shall your descendants be,” the heart of Abraham rejoiced (Genesis 15:4-6).

He did not stop with that. Further, God promised to say, “I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you” (Genesis 17:6). Above all these things, most unexpectedly God gave his only begotten son as the son of Abraham and this is what we read in the Scripture as  “I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you” (Genesis 17:6). Above all these things, God gave his only begotten son to Abraham as his son. This is what we read in the scripture as “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham” (Mathew 1:1).

God greatly exalted David more than what David had thought of. David who had been merely herding the sheep would never have dreamt of becoming a king and ruling. God told David, “Now, therefore, thus shall you say to my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel. And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you and have made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth.  Furthermore, I tell you that the Lord will build you a house” (I Chronicles 17:7-10). How greatly the heart of David would have rejoiced!

Similarly, Daniel walked sadly in captivity and spirit of bondage towards Babylon. God filled him with wisdom to the level that he never dreamt of. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon found Daniel to be ten times wiser than the other wise men and so elevated him to a high level of a minister.

One, who elevated the saints of the Old Testament to this level, will bless you also who are the children of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus during the time of the New Testament. God is keeping a good thing for you which you never thought of. Expect it with faith. God will definitely exalt you.

To meditate: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
