THE PARTIAL WILL PASS AWAY!

“But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away” (I Corinthians 13:10).

A loving mother, who cared for her son’s bright future, sent him to college for higher education. There he was saved. In a Gospel meeting, hearing the missionary challenge, he submitted himself to do ministry in the midst of barbarians living in a place abroad. He communicated his decision in a letter saying, “Mother, the love of Christ compels me. I am waiting for your permission.”

On reading the letter the mother felt very sad. Her heart worried this way. “Is he not my only son? I thought he will be with me. How can he live in the midst of the barbarians? No comfort will be there for him and where will he stay? Oh, he may have to undergo several sufferings.”

She began to write the reply to her son. She was unable to reject his request. The tears went on pouring on the paper. The emotional outbreak brought non-stop tears in her and restricted her writing. At last, she gave him the permission and wrote “Son, when God sent His only begotten Son to the world, how much his heart would have suffered! Till this day, I have never imagined or thought about this.

But my sorrow today, in sending you to such a dreaded location as a missionary, makes me realize how sad God would have felt that day. Was not Christ His only begotten Son? His is a very huge sacrifice and as a tiny part of that sacrifice, I am also sending you.” Yes, when the holistic love of Christ came into her heart, it cleared all her questions, obstacles and doubts.

When an orange fruit is squeezed in a tumbler with water, the seeds of the fruit will settle at the bottom of the tumbler. When sugar is added little by little and the juice is stirred, we can find the seeds floating at the top and they can be easily removed.

Similar to this, when the Holy Spirit comes, the divine love is poured into your heart. At that time, the fleshy attachments and other evil attractions will begin to float being unable to compete with the love of Calvary.

Dear children of God, has any love of evil type enslaved you? Are you struggling to be unable to win over it? Do one thing. Meditate the love of Calvary with tears. Then the Holy Spirit will cast out all the love of evil types from your life. You will become victorious saints.

Yes, definitely “But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away” (I Corinthians 13:10). The ‘perfect’ is God’s love of Calvary and ‘in part’ is the love of the world.

To meditate: “But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away” (I Corinthians 13:10).
