“Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth” (Isaiah 40:4).

The blessings of the valley are numerous. God has promised that every valley shall be exalted. Not only that. He Himself is the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys. Some people prefer to have a life of mountain and some others, a life of the valley. Once a sister said, "I do not like a life of ascending and descending. I do not want to reach the top at one time and struggle at the bottom later. What I prefer is a peaceful life in plain land."

In the Scripture, we see several deep secrets and promises of God about the valleys. Shall we meditate briefly about three of those valleys?

First comes the valley of Elah. It is in this valley, David defeated Goliath. When the battle began, the valley of Elah was filled with fear but God changed it into a valley of victory. Goliath, who had been thus far terrorising, fell flat on the ground. Dear children of God, have your enemies risen in the valley of Elah against you? God will fight for you and command victory for you.

The second valley in line for meditation is the Edom valley. The kings of Israel, Judah and Edom went there for a battle and were frustrated as there was no water for them (II Kings 3:9, 10). But God miraculously made the valley to get filled with water and quenched their thirst (II Kings 3:17). God is one to create everything from the emptiness. When you lean upon God, He will definitely perform a miracle for you.

The third is the valley of bones. The Scripture says, “Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry” (Ezekiel 37:2). God asked Ezekiel the prophet, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Is not the vision of this valley replicates that of our nation?

Crores of people throughout the nation look like dry bones. They have been lamenting over where light could be obtained from and where the new life is available. One who gives life to the dry bones will definitely bring the revival in the nation. Dear children of God, let the valley of bones turn into the valley of the army of prayer warriors.

To meditate:- “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army” (Ezekiel 37:10).
