“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion” (Psalms 133:1-3).

During the early morning, the dew drops fallen on the grass will look cool and beautiful. It rejuvenates. When it is under sunlight, it spreads beautiful colours like a rainbow.

God compares the greatness of brotherhood to that of the tender drops of dew which descend from above. You can see the brotherly love descending from the highest level to the very bottom. The anointment poured on the head of Aaron ran down and made his beard and clothes wet. Similarly, the dew descended from the High upon the mountains of Hermon and Zion.

Dear children of God, brotherly love should not remain at the top. It should come down and fill even the people living below the poverty line and those with weak faith. That anointment of love should also embrace the brothers who remain as strangers and foreigners. When it is poured on the head of the family, it also descends on the wife, children and relatives. The anointment on Christ who is the head also descended on the bride who is the body. Is it not?

The Christian life is the life of fellowship and solidarity. One cannot say, “After anointment, I will stand alone and function and I will not come to the beard or the edges of the clothes.” Only if it is in a position to come down and spread, it could bring life and blessing there. Jesus Christ descended from heaven to the earth to bring this anointment to you. He humbled Himself right unto death.

The Scripture says that this drop of dew descends from heaven. The drop of dew which descends from Calvary is the one which is the blood of Jesus Christ. For the sake of His brothers, He poured and offered even His blood as dew drops.

Dear children of God, when that sacrifice and the dewdrop which is His blood descend on you, it will enable you to show that love towards others. This is the secret behind the religion of Christianity growing and multiplying. “By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (I John 3:16).

To meditate:- “For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another” (I John 3:11).
