“…..look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).
Lift up your heads. Go ahead successfully lifting your heads. You have a great and glorious expectation and that is the Coming of Jesus Christ.
Many people walk with their heads bowed due to shame. The reason is that the sin and curse make them walk with heads bowed. Their guilty conscience keeps on pricking them. But, since the blood of Jesus has washed and cleansed you of your sins you will walk with head lifted high up. You will magnificently proclaim that the backbone of the sin has been broken.
Though the Coming of Christ may be a sad thing for the people living in sin, it will be a happy thing for you, the children of God. With joy, you will go towards Him who was crowned with thorns for your sake and who had been pierced with nails on hands and legs for your sake. Darkness will cover the world. The rule of the antichrist will surround. But in the midst of these things, the glory of God will rise upon you. You will rejoice with Christ forever.
Those who walk bowing their heads, walk facing the earth. So, the greatness of the earth looks best for them. But they are unaware that all the greatness of the earth will be burnt one day and that all which are seen will be destroyed. But you walk towards the eternal kingdom with your head lifted. The lover of your soul is waiting there for you. You will rejoice with the righteous and the angels.
Everyone born on earth will have to stand before the white throne awaiting justice. There, the book of life will be opened. Books of memory will also be kept open. On that day, the sinful world will be standing with heads put down in shame. Each man will be judged based on his deeds.
But, since Jesus Christ has redeemed you by shedding his blood on Calvary, you will stand with your heads lifted as there will be no condemnation based on the verse "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit" (Romans 8:1).
Dear children of God, Christ is cleansing you with His blood. Because of this, the loud voice of Salvation and rejoicing is ringing in your heart. Jesus Christ has filled you with the peace and joy which the world cannot give. So, you will walk with heads held upright.
To meditate: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne” (Revelation 3:21).
