"Go up and possess it, ........ do not fear or be discouraged" (Deuteronomy 1:21).
"Possess it" is the counsel of God. God will give you the place on which He has placed you, as your inheritance. He has promised. God has promised, "Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours".
A brother shared the following as his witness. "I had been given with a very ordinary post in my office and naturally the salary was also very less, but since God was with me, I always had a strong intention within me that I should inherit everything and I should be elevated over all others. So, I began to make efforts to achieve the same prayerfully. God lifted me as the manager in the same company wherein I had thus far worked as a lower level staff."
God promised the land of Canaan to Abraham and willed to give the same as an inheritance to Abraham and his descendants. He said, "I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God" (Genesis 17:8).
Canaan is a land promised to the forefathers (Exodus 6:8). It is a land flowing with milk and honey (Leviticus 20:24). It is a land with fields and vineyards (Numbers 16:14). When the children of Israel who had departed from Egypt, came nearer to the land of Canaan, the seven mighty nations and all the thirty-one kings opposed them fully and got ready to wage a war against them.
Inherit all those things which God likes to give you as a possession. If you lose heart, it will result in weakening of your strength. If you stay as a non-believer, that itself will bring defeat for you. So, be strong. It is your duty to inherit the nation. God has placed you as heirs not only in this age but also in eternity.
That day, the land of Canaan was given to the children of Israel as an inheritance. But for you, God has placed Canaan as the inheritance and also given you not only the Heavenly Kingdom but also all the powers and gifts of the Spirit.
Dear children of God, when you proceed in the heavenly path towards Canaan, you may come across numerous resistances and struggles from satan. But, with the Name of Jesus, the blood of Calvary and the verse of witness, boldly progress ahead victoriously having won over them. God who made the promises to you is faithful. As promised, He will definitely give you the Canaan as an inheritance.
To meditate: "Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. ......he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God" (Hebrews 11:8, 10).
