"That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us" (II Timothy 1:14).

Paul the Apostle writes an important counsel not only to Timothy but also to you all. There is a good thing in you and at the same time, the Holy Spirit is also in you. Protect the good thing which has been graciously given to you through the Holy Spirit which is also within you.

God has brought divine light in you which was filled with darkness till now. He has brought the brightness. He has brought divine peace to you when you were devoid of peace. He has transformed your life of struggles into a life of rest. You have to protect that good thing.

Protect the anointment you have received. Protect the Spirit of adoption with which you call Him 'Abba, Father." Safeguard your heart and soul with all protections. Because, only from these things the fountains with living water will depart. "Keep yourself pure" (I Timothy 5:22).

When Queen Victoria was ruling over England, an emperor in India gifted her with a precious Kohinoor diamond. When it was placed for the public to view, what great security the police provided to it! Even today, eyes of electric current looking like x-ray are protecting it from thieves. Yes. If the government gives you a good thing, it also issues an order that you should protect it.

God gave David who was rearing the sheep, a precious anointment (I Samuel 16:13). That anointment elevated him as a king. The Scripture says, "Thus says David the son of Jesse; thus says the man raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob and the sweet psalmist of Israel:" (II Samuel 23:1).

But, when he failed to protect that good thing which is the anointment and fell in sin, he had to cry and lament. "Do not cast me away from your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me" (Psalm 51:11).

The Scripture says: "....and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory" (Romans 9:23). Dear children of God, with all protections, safeguard those good things which are Forgiveness, Joy of Salvation, God's presence, Divine power, Divine grace, Divine compassion, Eternal life, Happiness and Peace.

To meditate: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (I Corinthians 3:16)
