EAT AND GET STRENGTHENED!

"Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll and go, speak to the house of Israel" (Ezekiel 3:1).

When you read the verses in the Scripture, they go into your soul as solid food. The Lord told Ezekiel the prophet, “Eat this scroll and go, speak to the house of Israel.” Before reaching the people and talking to them about God, it is essential for you to consume His verses as food. It is the one which provides you with strength and vitality.

The food given to you by God is a special one. It is a special one like the heavenly manna. He will never give His children malnutrition or cheap food. He never gives the dry leaves which are the philosophical wisdom. The food He gives you will be sweeter than the best honey. "Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth" (Revelation 10:10).

When God was leading the children of Israel in the wilderness, He gave them the manna. It was as sweet as pancake added with honey. That was the food of the angels. That food was not the one in Egypt like the fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic. That food was fit for slogging like slaves. But what God wanted was to strengthen His people by providing perfect heavenly food.

The reason is that they were in need of the strength of a wild rhinoceros. They had to fight with the thirty-one kings of the land of Canaan and had to cast out the seven nations. No ordinary food will help them to fight with vigour. That is why God willed to provide them manna which was the food of the angels.

Today, you have to wrestle against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. For that purpose, you require Spiritual power and so it is essential for you to eat the Scripture which is the heavenly food. Those who eat the heavenly manna with eagerness will never get discouraged in their souls. Their legs will never tremble.

Dear children of God, read the Scripture every day. Just like how a cow after feeding the grass goes to a separate place, lies down and begins to chew the swallowed food again, you may also inherit the Scripture after meditating the portions read already. If you do this, you will not only become wiser than the men of the world but also get strengthened in the soul.

To meditate: "Your words were found and I ate them and your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart" (Jeremiah 15:16).
