“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (I Corinthians 1:9).

God is faithful. God who called you is faithful. He is faithful in saving you completely. He who promised you is faithful in fulfilling it.

In these last days, the words 'Truth' and 'Honesty' are nowhere seen. Some years ago, people had the habit of closing their letters with the words 'Yours faithfully'. Times are changing and so are the habits. But our God never changes and He is a faithful God.

Truthfulness is one of the characteristics of God. Nothing other than the truth revealed in Him. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The characteristics of God never undergo changes.

The Psalmist says “The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130). You will see the light of God in your life to the extent to which you practice the Word of God in your life. That will help you in maintaining a close relationship with God. Looking at the children of Israel, God says, “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments” (Deuteronomy 7:9).

When you register your name in a marriage bureau or when you apply for a job, you mention all your talents and qualifications there. Here God makes a covenant saying "He is faithful God" and "He is faithful in His words." Whatever be your situation, when you submit yourself fully to God, He will be faithful and will guide and protect you to the end. Also, He will bless you.

If God gives you a promise, hold on to it firmly and pray. He will fulfil His Word in you when you obey His commands and do His will. Further, He never changes His mind. He says, “For I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). Dear children of God, since God loves you, He will guide you to the end crowning you with goodness and mercy. He is unchanging forever as He is faithful.

To meditate: “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3).
