POWERFUL TO MAKE ONE STAND STEADFAST!

“Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4).

God who created you, He who gave life to you is powerful to make you stand strong. Oral Roberts often said, "Our God is a good God but the devil is a bad devil." He does not stop with saying God is good but also cautions that the devil is bad.

Satan accused Job in the presence of God. He said, "Have you not made a hedge around him? But now, stretch out your hand and touch all that he has and he will surely curse you to your face." Just like this, he also accused Joshua the chief priest, in the presence of God.

The very purpose of satan is to make you lose heart and deviate from the right path. He will whisper in your ears "You cannot lead a holy life. Why should you pretend to be holy? Come and join the sinful life. What is it you achieved by going to the church regularly? From the day you began to go to the church, you are facing only defeats and problems in the family" to dishearten you. Do not give up. Look up to the Hero of Calvary. One who gave you life is strong to make you stand strong.

Not only that. Tests will approach you through your neighbours and co-workers. They will pretend as though they have care and concern over you and as though they love you most but the fact will be they will be persons finding fault with you and ones who roam about slandering you. These things will dishearten you. That is why Paul the Apostle writes “Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil” (Romans 14:16).

Your self-reliance is the next one to bring tests to you. Most of the times, you will be accusing yourself. You will sadly say "I am not strong enough to face this test, or this situation or this examination." You totally lose your self-confidence.

Some people will often threaten that they are going to resort to suicide. They do not realise that this is a sin and also it is not the correct remedy. Dear children of God, the only way to overcome any test or any situation is to declare your faith and stay strong with God.

To meditate: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
