“Far be it from you to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25).

Abraham defines God as 'Judge of all the earth.' Yes. He is the great judge of all judges; Powerful judge; 'Judge of all the earth. He will definitely do justice to you. The Scripture says “Righteous Father” (John 17:25), "The Son of God is righteous" (I Corinthians 1:30) and "Melchizedek, the Holy Spirit being the King of righteousness' Hebrews 7:2). Yes, God of Trinity is righteous.

Today, we see that the judgment is lopsided. Such things happen even in the courts. Wealthy people hire cunning advocates to argue their cases and try to topple the truth. At times, due to bribery many judges become blind.

Man can topple the judgment but he cannot cheat God who is the perfect Judge. God is righteous. He neither flatters nor is partial towards anyone. Ultimately, no one escapes on the day of His judgment.

Though Jesus Christ is with divine love, He remains as the perfect judge. In the beginning, He came as a Saviour. But hereafter, He will descend from heaven with the authority of judgment. When His own people committed sin, He never hesitated to condemn them and said, “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it” (Mathew 21:43).

When He is seated on the white throne, He will always examine the dead and those alive righteously. Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are righteous. What does He expect from His children? “He who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I am coming quickly.” (Revelation 22:11, 12).

You should always be righteous, because you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:18). So, you have to reveal the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, many saints were called 'Righteous". They hated the lawlessness and worked righteousness. They never went in support of injustice. They did not act against their conscience for the sake of money. So, God lifted their heads and opened their ways.

Dear children of God, you also be righteous of God. Fulfill His justice. Jesus Christ said, “…..it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness” (Mathew 3:15).

To meditate: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19).
