“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye” (Psalm 32:8).

What a wonderful promise it is! “I will instruct you, I will teach you the way, I will place my eye on you and I will guide you” are the four factors which God points out in this promise. What God teaches you is a teaching which is eternal and blessed. If you follow the same, you will become victorious and you will inherit the Heavenly Kingdom in eternity.

A man is taught by his parents during his childhood. Later he is taught by the schools, friends and relatives. The experiences and histories also teach certain things. These teachings do not come to an end in a few minutes. They continue for years. The man enjoys the benefits of these teachings for a very long time. But, to whatever extent you may be taught by these teachings, what is most important for you is to stay under God’s eternal teachings and hold them firmly.

Just think a little over how God intervenes in you and how He teaches you. He intervenes and teaches you in the mild voice of the Holy Spirit and He uses the Scripture and the servants of God for the purpose.

Always you have to wait for the Word of God eagerly and with interest. When you ask God, “Lord, show your way to me, let your light flash in my ways and teach me the way in which I should proceed” He will definitely show His way to you. The Psalmist says “The humble He guides in justice and the humble He teaches His way” (Psalm 25:9).

Isaiah says, “The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4). “He awakens me in the morning” and “he teaches me” are not only the witness of experience from Isaiah but also this is the witness of every saint. When you seek God in the early morning, you will receive His teachings and counsels. God will descend in your midst and dwell with you.

The same was also the experience of Jesus Christ. Every early morning, He went to the wilderness and waited for the Lord’s counsel. Dear children of God, in this wicked situation of the world, it is essential for you to listen to God’s counsel every day and lead a prayerful life.

To meditate: “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons” (Psalm 16:7).
