WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, In His holy mountain” (Psalm 48:1, 96:4).

During the period of the Crusades, Philip Augustine who was the ruler of France placed his crown on a table and made a note on it saying “To the deserving person.” Then he looked at his soldiers and declared that he was not willing to wear the crown anymore and he who shows exemplary performance in the forthcoming war will be gifted with the opportunity of ruling the country wearing that crown.

On hearing this, the soldiers were rejuvenated and entered into the battle yard with a newly acquired strength. The king also fought along with his soldiers with full zest and simultaneously encouraged the soldiers. He strengthened the legs which were trembling. The king fought from the front with all bravery, killed the opponent king and thus won the war gallantly. The soldiers gathered before him and said, “Our dear king, no one among us deserves to wear this crown than you.” Thus they praised the king and rejoiced to make the king wear the crown again.

If at all there is one who deserves exaltation today, in the age to come and in the eternity, it is none but Jesus Christ only. He alone won over satan in the war of Calvary. He made all those who accepted Him victorious, cleansed them and made them fit for the Heavenly Kingdom. The praise which you give Him is the crown which He likes.

How lot your heart is to be filled with gratitude and praise Him when you have received crores of good things, blessings and mercies from Him! Even if you have a thousand tongues and even if you live for thousands of years on earth, it will not be sufficient for you to define His love and compassion. Convert your life into a life of praise. Resolve to rejoice and thank Him with singing and dancing.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive says Acts 20:35. You have received so much from God. Is it possible for you to give back anything to Him in return? “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord” (Psalm 116:12, 13). Yes, His heart rejoices when you thank and praise Him.

Once ten lepers came to Jesus Christ and received miraculous healing from Him. But only one among them came back to Jesus to thank Him. Dear children of God, keep on praising God for all the good things you have received from Him.

To meditate: “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power” (Revelation 4:11).
