“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight” (Isaiah 45:2).

There is a loving Saviour for you who walks with you in your life. Whenever problems approach you, He goes in advance, straightens the crooked places and paves the way for you. How great His love is!

A sheep cannot rely upon its own strength. It has no proper security. It cannot fight against wild animals like the lion and tiger. It does not possess sufficient strength and vigour to protect itself from the enemies. Also, it does not have strong legs to fast and escape. But when it is under a good shepherd, he will guide it to green pastures and lead it beside the still waters. Jesus Christ stays as a good shepherd for you.

In the Old Testament, God guided the children of Israel wonderfully for forty years in the wilderness. He went ahead of them like a pillar of cloud and straightened all the crooked places. During many occasions, you also struggle being unable to find the right way and stay confused being unable to decide in which direction to proceed. Many questions like whether the way you lead is according to the will of God or not, may arise.

Only such questions arose also to king David. “Who will bring me to the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom?” (Psalm 60:9). It is none but your Lord God. He who promised “I will guide you with my eye” and “I will never leave you nor forsake you” is the one who stays with you to the end of the world. He is the one to go in advance and straighten the crooked places.

When God moves ahead of you, no one can stop Him. If at all one tries to stop, the result will be that he will be broken to pieces. Christ is victorious and He is the one to provide victories to you. Further, when you want to know the will of God while standing in the midst of confusions remember His promise “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21).

Dear children of God, He will be with you to the end of the world. This is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.

To meditate: “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, who shelters him all the daylong; and he shall dwell between His shoulders” (Deuteronomy 33:12).
