“The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall see disaster no more” (Zephaniah 3:15).

God is one who clears the evil things from you. He is the one to keep the wicked away from you. He will stay in your midst and provide you the victory over your rivals. He has promised “You shall see disaster no more” (Zephaniah 3:15).

Wicked people may rise to commit evil against you. For no reason they may hate you. Unexpected evils, jealousies, evil eyes, wickedness and plagues may surround you. Your heart trembles while facing evils. You are worried saying, “Why do I come across such sufferings? Why should this distress happen to me?” The reason is that the evils are so cruel. That is why Jabez, the devotee prayed with tears saying, “You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain” (I Chronicles 4:10).

Dear children of God, mention all the evils you face in prayer to God. Present everything to God Take everything to Him through supplications and intercessions. He will come in your midst and clear all the evils. He will definitely give you days of comfort in proportion to the days of sorrow and years of suffering which you experienced. “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore” (Psalm 121:7, 8).

When Jesus Christ was in the world He protected His disciples from all evils. Many Pharisees came to find fault with them. They accused them saying that they were eating bread without washing their hands. Evil spirits rose against the disciples. But Jesus protected and ensured that not one of them touch the disciples.

When the time came for Jesus Christ to be taken up from the world, He placed them in the hands of God and prayed saying, “I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one” (John 17:15). Further, He also taught the disciples to pray “And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Mathew 6:13).

Dear children of God, when God has decided to clear all the evils away from you, do not get nearer to them by yourself. Unwanted words may land up many people to troubles. Some people acquire the evils by resorting to sinful ways. When you violate the covenant which you have made with God, many evils will follow you (Deuteronomy 31:16, 17, Jeremiah 44:23). So, remove all the evils from you. God is powerful to clear every evil, however big it may be.

To meditate: “Surely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you in the time of adversity and in the time of affliction” (Jeremiah 15:11).
