“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

Jesus Christ went from place to place doing good deeds. He never committed evil against anyone, He is the one to do good deeds even to the unthankful and evil (Luke 6:35). He is the one to pour the rain on both the good and bad. You may have a doubt whether God was extending good deeds during all the critical periods of the past. But the Scripture says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28).

A pious, poor believer was working in a coal mine. Since he talked about Christ, the other workers mocked him. He was made to toil with the unbearable workload. The poor believer with all sadness said "Is it God who brought me here? If it is so, why am I experiencing so much reproach and mockery?"

One day, when he was about to take food along with other workers, a dog suddenly came there and took away the food of this man. On seeing this, all the other workers made fun of him and asked him whether his God will come to protect his food.

The poor man ran behind the dog to get back his bag. When he ran out of the mine chasing the dog, there was a loud threatening noise in his back. When he turned back, to his dismay he saw the mine collapsing. The workers who made fun of him were caught in the debris, were critically injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. Only then the believer realised that all things work together for good to those who love God and he praised God.

Look at the life of Joseph. He had to experience so much of sufferings and sorrows because of his brothers. But as he patiently tolerated everything, God elevated him to be a high-level official for the whole of Egypt. He told his brothers, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive” (Genesis 50:20).

Dear children of God, all the problems which surround you today will go away from you. All those who thought of committing evil against you will come closer to you with a change of mind. God will make everything to come to an end in a good and blessed manner. Get strengthened.

To meditate: “Do not withhold good from [a]those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so” (Proverbs 3:27).
