“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful” (I Corinthians 10:13).

Our God wants you to grow spiritually to emulate Him to possess all His characteristics. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son” (Romans 8:29). He is faithful to help you in every way after you achieve perfection, winning over the tests.

Some people will be saying that they are being tested unbearably. God never puts you to tests. He admits the tests for the reason that you should win over the tests and cross over to the next stage in your life. “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone” (James 1:13).

The Scripture says: "A man’s steps are of the Lord" (Proverbs 20:24). God trains you with His verses so that you understand what is good and what is bad.

In a sister‘s house, they were using the heaters to make the space warm during winter seasons. Being attracted by the colour, their two-year-old son used to go near it and try to touch the red coloured flame. Realizing the danger, the parents taught the child how serious it is and how bad the consequence could be if the flame is touched.

But they wanted to test the child to ensure whether he has understood the seriousness. They switched on the heater and after hiding themselves, watched the child’s movements. The child went near the heater with red flames, stared at it for some time and then ran away saying ‘no, no.’ Since their effort gave a very good result, they praised God for that. In the same way, God also wants you to run away from the evils.

The Scripture says, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). All the tests attacked Him also but still, He remained sinless.

Dear children of God, when the tests of sin approach you, God thinks of the tests He faced. When you lament out of fear that your legs may slip, He speedily comes to you and rests you with His grace. He never allows you to be tested beyond your ability to bear. He will raise you up to the end and protect you.

To meditate: “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted” (Hebrews 2:18).
