“So a book of remembrance was written before Him” (Malachi 3:16).
The book of life and the book of remembrance are the two books kept open in front of the God of gods, seated on the throne. "So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name" (Malachi 3:16).
If you enter into the Edinburgh Castle located in England, you can find the entire list of British soldiers who lost their lives in the I World War being safely preserved there. That government is not prepared to forget those names. The names of those warriors who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country have found a permanent place in that country's history.
The book of remembrance is even greater than that book and God willed to write your names in it. God opened the eyes of John the Apostle when he was in captivity at the island called Patmos. The eyes of John looked up to the book of life of the lamb. The names written in it will find place eternally. How blessed it is for your names being written in a book placed in heaven!
Some people will be very happy when miracles happen in their ministry. Jesus said, “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20).
If your names are written in heaven, you can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with right. You need not fear over the death. You will also escape from the judgment. The Scripture says, “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:27). Do your name find place in the book of life placed in heaven?
You might have seen students crying and lamenting when their names do not find place in the result list for any examination is published. One year will be wasted if they fail in their examinations. But if one's name fails to find place in the book of life, a great thing like the life of eternity is put to waste. “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). Dear children of God, dedicate yourself right on today itself so that your name as well as the names of your family members find place in the book of life.
To meditate: “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels” (Revelation 3:5).
