“You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you” (Leviticus 26:7).

There are baseless hostility and unfair enemies rising against you. Until jealousy and the devil that implants this jealousy in the heart prevail, it is natural that enemies will be rising.

When God brought the children of Israel to Canaan, they had to face the hostility of seven nations and thirty-one kings. Those cities were fortified and the people there were descendants of giants.

But even then, what was the promise given to them by God? “You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you” (Leviticus 26:7, 8).

Dear children of God, when the enemy comes like a flood, catch hold of the promise of God. Rely upon the Holy Spirit who hoisted the flag for you. Then the enemies who enter through one entrance would flee away through seven exits. God will fill you in such a way that no one will be able to oppose you.

The Israelites of the Old Testament age had worldly enemies and they fought with flesh and blood. They attacked their enemies and killed them. But the fight is different for you who are in the age of the New Testament. You fight against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Your fight is with the principalities and powers. Your fight is not against any hostile man, but you have to probe behind him to fight against those evil spirits which kindle him.

The very aim of satan is to steal. Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). The Son of God was manifested for the purpose that He might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8).

Dear children of God, do not worry even when enemies rise against you in huge numbers. The Lord of hosts is with you. There are thousands of angels and saints in the army of God. Chariots of fire and horses are also there. God will fight for you and provide you with victory.

To meditate: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).
