“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35).

In the 8th chapter of the book of Romans, Paul challengingly puts four questions with each ending 'who'. 'who'. 'who'. 'who'. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" "Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?" "Who is he who condemns?" "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?"

He goes on listing out the likely factors which would separate one from the love of God saying, "tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword." Not only these factors and even if some others are going to be more serious than these factors, but they also could not separate you from the love of God.

When it is so that even the saints of the Old Testament showed love towards God, how imperative it is for us to show more love towards God for the purpose of tasting the love of Calvary! Because Christ sacrificed His life on the Cross and revealed His love towards you.

When His love was at its best He was squeezed. The whole of His body looked like a ploughed land. You are dutiful to love Him for that. Will you show your love to God and say, "Lord, I will love you under all circumstances? Whether you bless me or not, your love in Calvary makes me love you always."

Once, a believer came to a servant of God and said, "Sir, I am facing a tribulation which even Job did not come across.” The pastor was surprised to hear this and asked the man to give details of that tribulation. The believer said, "It is the debt problem which even Job did not suffer from."

The pastor advised the man saying, "Learn to praise God even in the midst of your debt problems. Resolve to show love towards God always. God will change the situation and deliver you from this situation." Yes, gold and silver are God's; Heaven and earth are His.

When God willed to bless the later part of the life of Job, He inspired the minds of his friends so that each friend gives a piece of silver and a golden ring to Job. The Scripture says that all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold (Job 42:11). God blessed Job twice as much as he had before. Dear children of God, when you love God, He will bless you in the same way wonderfully. All your debt issues will disappear.

To meditate: “.....for love is as strong as death,....Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it” (Song of Solomon 8:6, 7).
