“Moreover I saw under the sun: In the place of judgment, wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, Iniquity was there” (Ecclesiastes 3:16).

Your heart glitches when justice is denied for you and when you are falsely accused by others. It is painful for your heart and you become distressed.

Many people falsely accused Jesus Christ. Justice was denied to Him. The first accusation was that “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days” (Mathew 26:61).

But Jesus did not say that He would destroy the temple. What he told was that if the temple is destroyed by someone, He would raise it up again in three days. But the Jews distorted the words. Even today many people may distort your words and wait to accuse you falsely. During all those times, look up to Jesus Christ.

The second accusation was that he called himself, the son of God. The chief priest Caiaphas looked up to Christ and asked: "Are you the son of God?" For this, Jesus replied, “It is as you said" (Matthew 26:63, 64).

If Caiaphas was conducting a proper enquiry, he should have asked the people on the opposite side to prove that He was not the son of God. Jesus proved that He was the Son of God by opening the eyes of the blind, healing the lepers and raising the dead back to life.

Thirdly, what they talked against Christ was that Jesus called himself the king. For this Jesus Christ replied “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from here” (John 18:36).

Dear children of God, people who falsely accuse without conscience have risen in plenty today. Do not worry. The eyes of God look at every injustice done against you. Do not forget that God stands by your side while whoever stands against you.

Men may accuse you falsely. But God will do justice for you. The Scripture says, “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25). Hold this promise firmly and pray. God who is fond of justice will do justice for you. He is with you as a God of justice, the sun of justice and the king of justice.

To meditate: “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven” (Matthew 5:11, 12).
