“He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6).

God is the basis for all blessings. He is the one who wills to give all good things. Healing and health are received only from Him. But, He looks at you and asks, “Do you want?”

He does not like to act against your wish. Also, He does not compel. This is because, at the time of creation itself, you were created with power over your own will and independent.

God said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).

Jesus asks, “I am standing outside and knocking at the doors. Will you allow me to enter inside?” If you are willing, He will come inside. If you hear His voice and open the doors, He will come in and dine with you. He never likes to enter into your life, forcibly breaking the doors.

God looked at the man who had been lying for the past thirty eight years, near the pool at Bethesda, with love. He saw his problems and found many people overtaking him in receiving the divine healing and he is left helpless with no one to help him to descend into the pool in time.

So, God came in search of him and asked, “Do you want to be made well?” Today, God asks you also whether you want anything. If you call Him with love and say that you need His support, you will definitely become blessed and also one who has inherited.

You may be sick or maybe without peace or suffering from the feeling of loneliness. The situation may be so worse that nobody comes forward to help you at your hour of distress. David says, “Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless” (Psalms 60:11). God knows that you are standing in the midst of so many worries and you are facing a mountain like problems. He wants to lift you and relieve you from all your problems.

Dear children of God, if you look up to God with true love, He will clear all your problems and bless you with happiness. You should prosper in all things and be in health as your soul prospers and this is what His will and wish are. “Do you want?”

To meditate: “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
