“You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water" (Psalm 65:9).

God has chosen you as a pleasant forest and a beautiful garden. You are the garden in which God dwells. Whenever you hear the voice of the beloved, your heart will rejoice.

While creating the Eden Garden, God gave the man one responsibility and took one for Himself. What was that responsibility given to man? “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it” (Genesis 2:15).

The Scripture says, “You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it” (Psalms 65:9). To tend and keep the garden is the responsibility of man and to make it fertile with the divine river is that of God’s.

Dear children of God, do not keep your heart as a dry land but tend and keep it according to the Scripture. Cleanse the garden which is your heart, by plucking all the weeds like anger and hatred. Clear all the small stones and tiles which are sins and which restrict the free flow of water thus paving the way for the divine river to flow in you. Then the divine river flows in you free and makes your family and your Spiritual lives fertile.

When you turn into the children of God, fertile inheritances, promises and His divine presence await you. God is keeping abundant inheritances for you so that you may also say as David said, “You brought us to a place of abundance.”

The reason is that the river which is the Holy Spirit is flowing in you. The Scripture says, “He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, like showers that water the earth. In His days the righteous shall flourish and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more” (Psalms 72: 6, 7).

Solomon the wise points out three factors found in this life in the world. Firstly “The generous soul will be made rich” (Proverbs 11:25), secondly, “The ... tent of the upright will flourish” (Proverbs 14:11) and thirdly, “He ...who trusts in the Lord will be prospered” (Proverbs 28:25).

The fertility of the Spirit is fully relying on the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit function in that fertility. If a fertile fruit of the Spirit is found in a man, nothing is greater to him than this. Dear children of God, always be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you become fertile.

To meditate: “He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14:17).
