“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
Strength is essential for you to carry out any work. You need strength in your body, soul and Spirit. It is God who gives these strengths. Paul the Apostle who had received that strength from God says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
Many people who undergo vigorous exercises to develop physical strength in their bodies do not understand the ways and means to strengthen their souls. Prophet Isaiah leaned on God and took Him alone as his strength.
Isaiah says, “....the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2). Habakkuk says, “The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills” (Habakkuk 3:19).
How to receive the strength from the Lord God? It is only through prayer and words of faith. As you continue to pray, you will receive the divine strength in your soul. You will never stumble and stay firm on that strength when you meditate the Scripture and proclaim the same with faith.
The saints of both the old and new Testaments got strengthened through their faith. The Scripture says, “....who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to fight the armies of the aliens” (Hebrews 11:33, 34).
You, being the children of the New Testament, God has promised a great strength from on high. Jesus Christ openly explained the disciples, the necessity of enduing with power from on high. He said, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
The disciples assembled together in the upper room and continued to pray. When the day of Pentecost arrived, the power from on high descended on them and they were strengthened. They were strengthened to stand as witness to God to the end of the earth.
Dear children of God, keep on getting filled with that power from on high. Renew your strength as the eagles do. The eagles which mount up with wings will never mind over the hills on the way and will fly over them. Likewise you too rise, fly and shine.
To meditate: “But my horn you have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil” (Psalms 92:10).
