“........lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.........” (II Corinthians 4:4).

The Gospel can be divided into two parts as ‘Gospel of Deliverance’ and ‘Gospel of Glory.’ The Gospel of deliverance delivers you from the sin, curse and sickness. The Gospel of glory transforms you to the image of Christ.

Both these gospels were given to Lot by God. He asked Lot to come out of Sodom and Gomorrah and this is the Gospel of deliverance. He said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed” and this is the Gospel of glory. The wife of Lot obeyed the gospel of deliverance but disobeyed the gospel of glory thus became a pillar of salt after turning back.

Similar to this, the Israelites were also given with these two gospels. One was the gospel of deliverance for them to come out of Egypt. The gospel of glory was the opportunity given to them to inherit the land of Canaan where milk and honey flow. Those who obeyed the gospel of deliverance and came out of Egypt were six lakhs in number. But the number of persons who obeyed the gospel of the glory and entered into the land of Canaan were mere two.

Dear children of God, you should not get satisfied with the gospel of deliverance. You should become perfect in Christ by obtaining all the inheritances of glory which God has for you. Paul the Apostle writes, “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Colossians 1:28).

The first desire of Paul the Apostle was to bring a man into Christ and the second desire was to strengthen and settle those who were brought to Christ. When both these gospels are in full, it will bring glorious blessings.

A sinner can receive the Salvation within five minutes through the gospel of deliverance. But getting cleansed and becoming perfect is an experience which runs throughout life. On one side is getting saved and on the other side is getting purified; on one side is to receive the life and on the other side is obtain the perfect life.

It is sweet to hear the parts of the gospel of the glory that Jesus loves, saves, forgives and heals. All these things are the deeds of deliverance which Jesus Christ does. At the same time, you have to dedicate yourself as the living sacrifice, fast, pray and take part in church assemblies. You have to meditate the Scripture. Dear children of God, if you follow this, you will receive the glorious blessings.

To meditate: “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
