Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times” (Mark 14:30).

That rooster crowed against sin and revealed Peter’s treason. Dear children of God, you also need to raise your voice against the sin as that rooster did.

Paul the Apostle points out “You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin” (Hebrews 12:4). Some persons do not stand against the sins as they have already immersed in them, thus making their conscience dull.

That day, King Herod who ruled Israel killed his brother and took away his wife. When John the Baptist came to know this, he did not hesitate to confront him and he said, "It is not lawful for you to have her." He was not at all afraid of what Herod would do against him.

The prophets of the Old and New Testaments have boldly proclaimed the truth and were prepared to face whatever resistance they might have to face in return. They were very clear and they neither compromised with sins nor overlooked them quietly.

If there is a boil with pus in a man's body, someone will have to press it and clear off all the pus. Indeed this is a painful act. But if it is not done because of the fear over pain, he can never get healed. If a person does not cut open the boil to protect the individual from pain and offers any other light treatment, he is only harming the individual and nothing else. God told through prophet Ezekiel “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it” (Ezekiel 9:4).

The word 'Jerusalem' denotes then the church of God. You should be the one to cry and lament over the dirty things, shortfalls, flaws, sins, sorrows and mistakes happening in the churches. The Scripture condemns those who blunt their conscience “When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers. You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit” (Psalms 50:18, 19).

Dear children of God, never get along with sin, You should be Zealous in maintaining holiness, raise your voice against sin and pray with tears for the redemption of the sinners.

To meditate: “Oh, that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!” (Jeremiah 9:1)
