“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command" (Hebrews 11:23).

In this Scripture portion, it is noted as "They saw he (Moses) was a beautiful child. But in other translations it has been noted as "A man of divine beauty" and "According to the plan of God who is perfect, Moses was born beautiful."

Moses was born to fulfil the purpose of God. As soon as his mother saw his face after birth, she realised that he was born for the purpose to fulfil the aim and will of God. That is why she decided to safeguard him at any cost and with no fear of the commands of the king she brought up the child as a selected one for God.

Today, even in many Christian families, people rely upon the astrology and horoscope. They look into astrology whenever a child is born and predict its horoscope. One family had been told that their child had a long lifespan but what happened was that the child died as a child itself. They were unable to withstand the shock. They lost hope in astrology and came back to God.

Moses was known as "The son of Pharaoh's daughter" but the fact was that he grew up by his own biological mother who was a Hebrew woman. Even if y ou are not beautifully born, God found you with eternal beauty and so willed to feed you with milk of wisdom. Dear children of God, you can grow in the beauty of God and grow to receive His characteristics only if you feed on the milk of wisdom which is the Scripture.

Do you teach the Scripture to your children? Do you make them grow with the words which are heavenly manna? You will never be able to fulfil the will of God if you bring up your children based worldly disguise and habitual practices. Their lives too will not be holy.

Dear children of God, you should be firm and desirous towards the inheritance which God has given you. However hard the task may be, children should be brought up in prayer life. We should assist them to progress in their divine path. Is it not the Spiritual future of the children important than all other things?

To meditate: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16, 17).
