ONE WHO LIFTS!
ONE WHO DELIVERS!
“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my steps” (Psalm 40:2).
God is one who lifts you out of the miry clay. Further, He is the one to establish you on the rock. He is the one to pick you up from the deep pit and lift you to heavenly places and higher places.
ONE WHO TEACHES!
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19)
Our God is one who delivers. He will deliver you from all your sorrows which you are facing today. Notice that in Tamil version, this verse says that God will 'stand and deliver.' He stands for the purpose of delivering you. So, you need not grieve over your sorrows.
ONE WHO IS WITH US!
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye” (Psalm 32:8).
What a wonderful promise it is! “I will instruct you, I will teach you the way, I will place my eye on you and I will guide you” are the four factors which God points out in this promise. What God teaches you is a teaching which is eternal and blessed. If you follow the same, you will become victorious and you will inherit the Heavenly Kingdom in eternity.
ONE WHO FIGHTS!
“….as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5).
God is one who stays forever as He is. He is one who loves; one who provides refuge; one who stays as bulwarks; one who stays as a fort; one who stays as the creator; one who stays near. Above everything, He is one who stays with us always.
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14).
Moses looked at the children of Israel and said, "Do not worry or fear. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
POWERFUL TO MAKE ONE STAND STEADFAST!
“Far be it from you to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25).
Abraham defines God as 'Judge of all the earth.' Yes. He is the great judge of all judges; Powerful judge; 'Judge of all the earth. He will definitely do justice to you. The Scripture says “Righteous Father” (John 17:25), "The Son of God is righteous" (I Corinthians 1:30) and "Melchizedek, the Holy Spirit being the King of righteousness' Hebrews 7:2). Yes, God of Trinity is righteous.
GOD IS POWERFUL!
“Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4).
God who created you, He who gave life to you is powerful to make you stand strong. Oral Roberts often said, "Our God is a good God but the devil is a bad devil." He does not stop with saying God is good but also cautions that the devil is bad.
FAITHFUL IN PRESERVING!
“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us” (Daniel 3:17).
God is good and powerful towards you. He gives you certain experiences repeatedly in your life to affirm how strong He is. Lives of so many saints are found in the Scripture and in every one of them, we can find how powerful God is.
FAITHFUL IN GUARDING!
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it” (I Thessalonians 5:23, 24).
God is faithful. He is faithful in protecting and stabilizing you to the end. A sister lived right from her childhood in Poland, which was under the Communist government. She said, “The Communist Government keeps every part of the lives of its citizens under control. The Government has control over issues even like what they should eat, how many children they can have and so on.”
FAITHFUL IN TEMPTATION!
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one” (II Thessalonians 3:3).
Several kinds of evils play havoc in the world today. You do not know which evil will come and when it will come or whether it will be in the morning or evening. You have to unexpectedly face the snares and your legs face traps. But, what the Scripture says is “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom” (II Timothy 4:18).
FAITHFUL IN FORGIVING!
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful” (I Corinthians 10:13).
Our God wants you to grow spiritually to emulate Him to possess all His characteristics. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son” (Romans 8:29). He is faithful to help you in every way after you achieve perfection, winning over the tests.
FAITHFUL IN PLANS!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
Our God is faithful in forgiving. He is merciful in forgiving. It is for forgiving, He shed His blood. It is for forgiving, He surrendered Himself as an eternal sacrifice as per the law.
FAITHFUL TO THOSE WHO CALL UPON!
“O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth” (Isaiah 25:1).
Prophet Isaiah praises God saying, “O Lord, you are my God. I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” The Psalmist also says “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed and in your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:16).
FAITHFUL IN WORD AND DEED!
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth” (Psalm 145:18).
God is faithful. He who promised to stay nearer to all those who call upon Him is faithful. When you call upon Him in truth, He will come nearer to you and show pity on you with love. He will meet all your needs.
FAITHFUL IN COVENANTS!
“For the word of the Lord is right and all His work is done in truth” (Psalm 33:4).
God is truthful in His words and also in the thoughts of your deeds. He is faithful in doing good in every part of your life.
FAITHFUL IN PROMISES!
“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” (Deuteronomy 7:9, 10).
Our God is faithful in covenants. Covenant is a resolution made between two persons. In the ancient days, people used to enter into covenants over many factors. It can even be an agreement between the leaders of two nations or between the heads of two different organizations.
FAITHFUL IN WORD!
“Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you” (Joshua 23:14).
The whole of the Scripture is filled with promises. The promises and the prophecies of God fulfilled in the past and are fulfilling in the present as well. Before shouldering the responsibilities of guiding the children of Israel, Joshua was assisting Moses in many aspects. Joshua stood as the witness for the words which God spoke to Moses and also to all the miracles which God performed through Moses.
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19)
God is faithful in Word and is faithful in fulfilling it. When the Word of the Almighty came out, it turned into a deed of creation. In the beginning, God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. God called the light Day and the darkness He called Night and thus came the morning and evening.
LORD MOST HIGH!
“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (I Corinthians 1:9).
God is faithful. God who called you is faithful. He is faithful in saving you completely. He who promised you is faithful in fulfilling it.
"I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High" (Psalm 7:17).
God’s name ‘Jehovah Elyon’ is being translated as ‘God, the Most High’. Our God is God the Most High and He dwells on high (Psalm 113:5). He is the one seated on the throne placed magnificently high.
